“We are extremely pleased to join the Symetra Tour in kicking off their season in the beautiful Arizona desert,” said Chris Koch, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Carlisle Companies. “The members who compete on this tour embody Carlisle’s culture of integrity, continuous improvement and perseverance. All of us at Carlisle are excited to see who raises the trophy on March 21.”
The Carlisle Arizona Women’s Golf Classic is the first of two events in the Grand Canyon State on the 2021 Symetra Tour schedule and brings the “Road to the LPGA” back to Longbow Golf Club for a second consecutive year. Past champions of Symetra Tour events at Longbow Golf Club range from LPGA Tour veteran Alena Sharp in 2014 to amateur Hannah O’Sullivan in 2015. Despite the desert heat last August, Sarah White (Grand Rapids, Michigan) defeated Sophia Popov (Heidelberg, Germany) on the first hole of a sudden-death playoff to win the Founders Tribute, one week before Popov went on to claim the AIG Women’s Open crown on the LPGA Tour.
“This year, we enthusiastically welcome Phoenix-based title sponsor Carlisle Companies Incorporated to the 2021 season kickoff of the Symetra Tour at Longbow Golf Club, ‘The Essence of Arizona Golf,’ as we support the ‘Road to the LPGA,’” said Bob McNichols, General Manager and Director of Golf at Longbow Golf Club. “We look forward to sharing the excitement that is the Symetra Tour with the Arizona golf community and Carlisle Companies Incorporated in March.”
The Pro-Am event for the Carlisle Arizona Women’s Golf Classic will take place at Longbow Golf Club on Wednesday, March 17.
