Thunderbirds Charities | A Ronald McDonald House Charities: Corporate Heart of the House Honoree

For more than 34 years, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central and Northern Arizona has provided a “home-away-from-home” for families traveling to the Valley for medical care for their children. Thunderbird Charities, the giving arm of The Thunderbirds who host the Waste Management Phoenix Open, has been a charitable partner of Ronald McDonald House Charities for years.

“Its thunderbirds charities substantial contribution to our capital campaign that’s helped us move our mission forward and enabled us to help more families. And for that we’re very thankful,” said Scott Harris, board chair, RMHC of Central and Northern Arizona. “When you see thousands of people at the Phoenix Open each year, it’s easy to forget Thunderbirds Charities is there to raise money for dozens of non-profits in our community.”

Grants from Thunderbirds Charities allows Ronald McDonald House Charities to provide assistance for families to make them comfortable while the children are being taken care of and help those families in need and to make them comfortable in a very uncomfortable situation.

“We’re honored to be here,” said Chance Cozby, Big Chief of The Thunderbirds. “So on behalf of more than 300 Thunderbirds in this community I want to say thank you for recognizing us, thank you for being a great partner and thank you for everything the Ronald McDonald house does for those families in need.”
