CENTENNIAL, Colo., May 17, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- GolfTEC – the world leader in golf lessons and top employer of PGA Professionals – announces its 200th location worldwide opens this week in Scottsdale, joining a large and growing network that includes 177 improvement centers in the United States, as well as multiple facilities in Canada, Korea and Japan, with further domestic and international expansion planned for 2016 and beyond.

The company has experienced unrivaled growth in the golf industry in recent years, including a 73 percent increase in revenue since 2010, a time span in which it opened more than 60 new centers. Nearly one million lessons are estimated to be given at GolfTEC centers in 2016, with the largest driver of new business coming by way of referrals from current customers. Leading-edge golf instruction and club-fitting programs have led to a 96 percent success rate among GolfTEC students.

"In 1995 we opened our first center, but never dreamed that just over 20 years later we would have grown to 200 locations across multiple countries," stated Joe Assell, Co-Founder and CEO at GolfTEC. "This growth is a testament to the hundreds of coaches we employ who work tirelessly to help their students improve and enjoy the game as much as possible. Scottsdale is a tremendous golf market and this new center is unlike anything in the region."

Located at 7342 E. Shea Blvd Suite 106, the new standalone center will be the company's fifth Arizona location. The Shea-Scottsdale location features all of GolfTEC's proprietary teaching technologies including multiple hitting bays and an array of state-of-the-art equipment designed to provide customers with a totally unique learning experience.

Overseeing the facility will be Director of Instruction and PGA Member, Jeff Emmerich, who has taught thousands of lessons in his distinguished career. Emmerich comes from a strong educational background, having graduated both The Golf Academy of America and The Arizona State Professional Golf Management program and will supervise a team of highly-trained GolfTEC coaches.

The renowned, global GolfTEC coaching team is comprised of experienced professionals, most of whom are PGA professionals and have taught thousands of lessons. Each goes through a rigorous multi-week certification at GolfTEC University including continued advanced training to master the analysis of golf swing mechanics, the technology utilized by GolfTEC and the most productive teaching techniques. Committed to strengthening the industry and hiring only the best staff, GolfTEC is the largest employer of PGA Professionals in the world.

Each GolfTEC student undergoes a Swing Evaluation to assess their skill, followed by a certified personal coach recommending a specific game plan, which includes fundamental elements like course strategy and a TECfit® club fitting session. While the majority of lessons are taught indoors in private bays, coaches also accompany players for on-course/outdoor lessons to ensure they are comfortable in real world situations.

Scottsdale area golfers are encouraged to come meet the staff at the grand opening event on Saturday, May 21st, from noon to 6:00 p.m. It will include food/drinks, prizes and a chance to win a "Golf Makeover" that includes lessons, custom-fit clubs, apparel and a round of golf at an exclusive Arizona course.
