Talking Stick Resort Amateur Golf Championship

THE TOURNAMENT

The Talking Stick Resort Amateur Golf Championship is a three-day event which includes one practice round followed by a 36-hole Championship Tournament.

Scoring will follow a net, stroke play tournament format with players designated to flights determined by an established handicap (see Registration Info).

Each day of the event will consist of golf at Talking Stick Golf Club followed by exclusive events at Talking Stick Resort.  

THE COURSES

Talking Stick Golf Club consists of two, highly-acclaimed, 18-hole championship courses designed by renowned architects, Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw. 

The O'odham Course (North) is a classic, links-style design that features rolling fairways, unique bunkering and multiple green run-off areas. It's name is derived from the Pima Tribe which has a rich, cultural history in the region.  

YARDAGE BOOK

The Piipaash Course (South) is a traditional American layout with tree-lined fairways and water features. It's name is derived from the Maricopa Tribe which also has centuries-old traditions in the valley.

What is included in the Kickoff Party?
The kickoff party will include hors d'oeuvres, 2 drink tickets and a long-drive competition. 

What is the Wandering Horse Buffet Dinner?
When you receive your welcome packet, it will include a coupon for the Talking Stick Resort Wandering Horse Buffet or any outlet of your choice for equal or lesser value. 

What is included in the Awards Banquet?
The awards banquet will include hors d'oeuvres and tournament prize payouts. 

How do I participate in the Blackjack Tournament?
Guests may sign up for the blackjack tournament at the time of registration.

What is the payout for the Blackjack Tournament?
The casino is adding $4,000 to the prize purse, plus a percentage of every entry. The estimated total prize purse is $7,000. The blackjack tournament is only for registered golf participants.

Do I need to sign up for any type of membership at the casino?
Yes, events require Player Rewards Club membership. Membership is free.

Cancellation Policy
The deadline for cancellations is January 10, 2020. Cancellations must be made through Reservations.

How many players will be paid out per flight?
One-third of the field will be paid out for each flight. Winners will be paid in golf shop credit to be spent at Talking Stick Golf Club.

Can I play extra practice rounds before the event?
Yes, a special rate will be offered for contestants in the tournament beginning one week prior. 

Can I choose who I play with in the tournament?
No, players will be randomly paired with other players within their flight.

Are caddies allowed?
Yes, but if a player chooses to have a caddie, both the player and the caddie will be required to walk and keep up with the pace of play.

When will handicaps be collected?
USGA handicaps will be indexed at a date approximately one-two weeks before the start of the tournament (date to be determined) and the player's tournament handicap will be calculated at that time.

What ages are eligible for the Senior Flight?
Ages 55 and older are eligible to play in the Senior Flight.
